Ever Wondered How Much Australian Olympians Make? We'll Tell You Just That... Athletes globally can make millions of dollars a year for being the best of the best, but how much do Olympic competitors make? How Much They Make... Our Aussies in Tokyo are doing perhaps the highest honour in sports and that is representing their country, especially in the Olympics. In the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, each athlete has a set pay, as well as a medal Bonus if they happen to win a medal, paying more for gold, and less for silver & Bronze. For each GOLD Medal won in the Tokyo Olympics, the athlete will be rewarded A$20,000 as an incentive, on top of the priceless medal they win. For Silver Medals, Athlete's receive A$13,400, and for Bronze, they will receive $10,000.  The First of Many Medals Has Been Won At The 2020 Tokyo Olympics! The first official gold medal of the 2020 Olympic Games has been won in Tokyo! Who Won The Medals? As the 10m Air Rifle Women's event concludes, it is the first event in the 2020 Olympic games to have crowned a winner. Chinese 21-year-old-olympian Yang Qian has won the first Gold medal of the Summer Olympics this year.  China has started their Olympic campaign on the right foot with a Gold medal, in which they had 26 of in the 2016 Olympics, landing them in 3rd place overall. All three medals from this event were awarded as follows. Gold     -     China Silver     -      ROC (Russian Olympic Committee) Bronze     -     Switzerland These 3 medals are the first of 1017 in total to be won by the end of the games.  Stay Tuned

 The 2020 Tokyo Olympics Have Begun!... Finally! On July 23rd, 2021 the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Have finally been kicked off with the opening ceremony taking place last night at approximately 9PM - 1AM (AEST). The opening ceremony included a spectacular drone show in which 1,824 Drones lit up the sky to make a revolving model of the Earth, as seen here. What Event Medals Are Up For Grabs Today? On the 24th of July, The first day of the Olympics officially, there are a number of medals up for grabs in various sports.  The medal events taking place today (July 24) include the following:     -Archery: Mixed Team     -Cycling: Men's Road Race     -Fencing: Women's Espee & Men's Sabre Individual     -Judo: Women's 48kg & Men's 60kg     -Shooting: Men's, Women's 10m Air Rifle      -Taekwondo: Men's 58kg, Women's 49kg     -Weight Lifting: Women's 49kg The Australian Team has only two opportunities for medals in today's events, which are in bold
