 The First of Many Medals Has Been Won At The 2020 Tokyo Olympics!

The first official gold medal of the 2020 Olympic Games has been won in Tokyo!

Who Won The Medals?

As the 10m Air Rifle Women's event concludes, it is the first event in the 2020 Olympic games to have crowned a winner. Chinese 21-year-old-olympian Yang Qian has won the first Gold medal of the Summer Olympics this year. 

China has started their Olympic campaign on the right foot with a Gold medal, in which they had 26 of in the 2016 Olympics, landing them in 3rd place overall.

All three medals from this event were awarded as follows.

Gold    -    China

Silver    -    ROC (Russian Olympic Committee)

Bronze    -    Switzerland

These 3 medals are the first of 1017 in total to be won by the end of the games.
